Singer-songwriter, Jake Koelzer returns with a brand new LP of original music!  The result is a texturally rich sound that moves seamlessly from one style to the next, and blurs the line between vocal jazz and pop. First listeners described the album as, "beautiful, thoughtful, complicated, and yet perfectly suited to each tune and feel. [The] lyrics are smart, compelling, and meaningful - truly." Lively Time wrote, "It’s jazzy and suave, but with a dark undercurrent in the lyrics. [It's] multiple voices, strings, drum loops, and more [...] produce an opulent, layered sound." Virtue and the Vice is available now for download, streaming and physical copy.

Originally from Bozeman, Montana, Koelzer studied jazz performance at Berklee College of Music and graduated from Montana State University. His music is an eclectic blend of contemporary vocal jazz, blue-eyed soul, and pop. Lively Times wrote in response to his 2010 debut album, "Koelzer conjures the low-light ambiance of hip uptown nightclubs and large downtown ballrooms, exuding confidence from flawless technique and spot-on intonation." Jake has studied with critically acclaimed musicians such as; Jake Fleming, Jeni Fleming, Ryan Matzinger, Eden Atwood, Gwendolyn Leathers, and Daniela Schauter. He has been featured with numerous trios, combos, and big-bands.

Koelzer is currently based in Portland, Oregon and preparing for a Spring Tour 2017.
